The comedy drama only landed on the streaming service on 21 September but has already earned itself a loyal army of fans, albeit an army of slightly confused loyal fans .

According to the show's official synopsis: "Two struggling strangers connect during a mind-bending pharmaceutical trial involving a doctor with mother issues and an emotionally complex computer."

The ten-episode series, which was directed by new James Bond director Cary Fukunaga, sees Annie Landsberg (Stone) and Owen Milgrim (Hill) signing up to take part in the unique three-day drug trial, which promises to solve all their problems and heal past traumas forever, but, of course, it doesn't quite work like that.

Now, I can't go into too much detail without spoiling it, but rest assured it's good and fans are already raving about it online.

Alongside Stone and Hill, Maniac stars Justin Theroux as Dr Mantleray, a role he was given the chance to 'flesh out' with his own ideas.

Speaking about the character, Theroux said: "I came in late into the process, we got to try and invent him a little bit, the look and the tone of the character. He's in this bizarre bubble of neuroses at the lab.

"Cary was very good at letting me go very far with the character and then pulling him back. I really loved that."

Stone has also revealed that she was delighted to be working with her pal Hill again.

"Superbad was my first movie so it was really cool to look over at him again," she said. "Especially when he was Bruce with the mullet!

"We've also had a friendship in the meantime, so it was nice to be with my buddy."

Maniac is available to watch on Netflix now, so go and check it out, eh?
